More from Kimberly

Every year since I signed the contract for my debut novel, a book set at Christmastime, I have made it a goal to write a Christmas book, usually a novella. This year, Personal Threat is that book.

I wrapped up the series with Personal Threat. My husband came up with the title for this one because the threat in this book is very personal for one of the Protection Inc. team members.

We first met Sally in book two of the series and it seemed only fitting she starred in a book of her own. We also get to know Dillon better in this book which for me was super fun to write. He’s played an important and growing role as the series has progressed and is one of my favorite characters in the series.

MY REVIEW

This has been a great series and the author does a good  job of giving readers a story that ties the series up nicely. I would recommend reading the entire series so you become familiar with the characters. It is definitely an action packed adventure that keeps you on the edge of your seat.

I enjoyed getting to see Sally again after a brief appreance in earlier books. She is very experienced in taking care of herself  and others but when her daughter is in danger she calls on her friends and co-workers for help. I liked how the author pushes the envelope as Sally and Dillon team up to protect her daughter. All her skills from her job will be needed to stop the man who wants to take her daughter.

Dillon really shines in this story as he makes it his personal responsibility to keep Sally and Emma from harm. It is nice to see how Dillon gets more involved with Sally and tries  to break down the wall that stops her from trusting. He understands her hesitation but never gives up.

The story is filled with danger that includes human trafficking of children and a man desperate to succeed in his evil plan . The author shows how important faith and trust is in the story as Sally  becomes overwhelmed at times. The book is short but packs a powerful look at how family, friends and faith work together.

I received a copy of this book from Celebrate Lit. The review is my own opinion.
