#Authorproblems   That’s what the excitement around Keith Young was…a problem—Kinda. Lol!

When I started to hear request for his story, I panicked. Authors don’t want to disappoint their readers. And being new to the published scene…Well, you get the picture. 😊

After the release of Buried Cold Case Secrets, many readers told me they wanted Keith’s story. In fact, the overwhelming response puzzled me. What had I done to create such a buzz about Jason’s partner? And of course, I had to ask why?

The general answer I received…Keith’s a nice guy and the perfect partner.

I have to admit, I got a little nervous since I had already written his story. And I worried if I’d done his character justice?

However, after writing Buried Cold Case Secrets, I knew Keith had to have his own story. He’s such a great guy and needed his happily ever after. So, I dove in and asked, what would happen if he made a huge mistake? Not just a physical one, but a heart one.

By the time I finished, I loved seeing Keith and Amy move past their poor choices and hurt to find acceptance and love. The perfect ending to Keith’s struggles.

All that to say, I hope you love Keith and Amy’s story as much as I do.  #TeamKeith

MY REVIEW

Within the first few pages the author delivers a fast pace action packed story that will keep readers on their toes. Starting with identical twins you can tell that something bad is about to happen. It is never good when one twin is in the wrong place at the wrong time. The tragic death of Amy’s twin Stacey puts  lives in grave danger. Amy is on the run with her nephew when the wrong twin is murdered. I was very intrigued to find out why no one was investigating what Amy witnessed and captured on film. Oh how I began to think of reasons why Amy didn’t have cooperation from the police when she reported what she saw. Now her twin is dead and she is on the  run with her nephew.

Keith has a  history with Amy and Stacey which is probably why Amy decided to reach out to him for help. I did like that he stepped up and got Amy somewhere safe. The question does come up as to who Carter’s father is. It was very easy to figure that part of the  story out which made  me a bit disappointed. I was hoping for more of a mystery regarding the identity of Carter’s father. However this situation does lead to  some complications between Keith and Amy. Will Any forgive Keith for his involvement with her twin?

There is lots of danger in the story but there are also a few things I question about the storyline. Any has a very important item in her possession that she has kept from Keith and all the investigators. Why would she not turn it over to them instead of them trying to find a way to prove what Amy saw? It made no sense to hide it and in fact made her more of a target. Turning over this piece of evidence would have saved them from more harm and catch who was behind everything. The other issue I had was why they brought the baby with them to retrieve the evidence when the baby could have stayed with Keith’s  dad. These decisions just don’t add up and I don’t think Amy was thinking clearly. Whatever the reason she continued to put people in danger unnecessarily.

The  action takes a dangerous curve as someone is desperate to get rid of Amy. I loved the intense scenes where Amy and Keith start to draw towards each other. Their relationship is something I really wanted to see blossom. With Carter now a vital part that connects the two, I was cheering for a good outcome. Amy has this way about her where she tends to play victim a little too much. Saying the wrong twin died  really upset me. The girl has an issue and I tend to think it may be jealousy of her outgoing twin and low self-esteem she has never addressed.  The author does a good job of showing how hurt Amy is and needs to be reassured that she is loved just like her sister was.

Get ready for action, a trail of suspects, guilt and  two people searching for forgiveness and a fresh start. When the killer was revealed I was not surprised, however the author completely shocked me when the reason was revealed. Wow. What a great ending and although I had a few questions about some of the storyline, I have to say the author did a great job of helping me understand why Any acted indecisively at times.

I received a copy of this book from Celebrate Lit. The review is my own opinion.
