Bet You Can't Find Me

I was given a copy of this book for an honest review by LibraryThing

Catherine has a company called "Psychic Consultant." She is helping Cody Allrn who heads up the homicide division , on a missing person's case. They have developed a trust between each other and Cody believes in her ability to see things others can't. One day Cody is called into the chief's office. He has been informed that he will be working with Brian Wilkes who is with the FBI. It seems that there have been a string of unsolved muders that have a connection to Catherine.

Suddenly Catherine's world is turned upside down. Her phones are tapped and she has noticed someone following her and watching her every movement. People that Catherine knows, are suddenly savagely being murdered and someone is trying to point the police to her as the suspect. Is she guilty of these heinous crimes ? Can her psychic powers help her find the truth?

The book has many twists and turns. It delves into the voodoo, psychic world that has many secrets and spirits. It takes us into the backwoods of a town that is well known for spreading terror and fear on those thst don't believe in the supernatural. The author , Linda has written a book so intense and heart pounding , and filled with tension that I could not put the book down. She has done a great job of developing characters that are strong , supportive and have a willingness to sacrifice theirselves in order to save others.

This is my first book I have read by Linda Prather but it will not be the last. There is a second book in this gripping, nonstop action story that I have to read. Thank you Linda for a book that have all the elements needed for a must read.  )

reviewI was given this book from the author for an honest review.

When I first looked at the book and started reading it, I thought I could do a quick read and do a review. As I began to read I saw the heart of a man who wrote a book that shared his heart and raw emotions of a journey that he never imagined he would experience. Mr. Beaufort was diagnosed at the young age of 39 with prostrate cancer. It is a true story of how he walked this path his life took him on and how he beat cancer.

One of the greatest challenges anyone faces when they get a diagnosis with the word cancer is fear. Mr. Beaufort wants to help those going through cancer treatment realize that fear can overtake you and keep you isolated from the people who care about you and want to help take this journey with you. He tells the readers that you must reach out for help. If you don't reach out for help, fear will overtake you and keep you trapped as you spiral into a deep depression that will close you off from the world . He knew that "this journey with cancer would be the hardest thing he has ever done . Any other challenges in his life would be nothing compared to beating cancer. "

In this book Mr. Beaufort gives cancer patients keys to help them go through what lays ahead. It will not be an easy road, but one made a little easier with heartfelt , emotional tips to help those with cancer endure their journey. A few key points he makes are to exercise and exercise your self esteem. If there is no one around , look in the mirror and give yourself a pep talk. Everyone knows that knowledge is power , so he encourages you to go on the defensive and become an expert in your diagnosis.

I loved when he said "Understanding your situation will help control your fear." We all have fear of the unknown, but we can conquer that fear by being informed and taking control of our situation. Throughout the book, you can feel his pain, struggles and strength as he gives readers hope and insight into how he beat cancer. As I read the book, I felt as if he was taking someone's hand and walking with them as they take the journey that he had just overcome. His desire to help others is painted by his eloquent and compassionate words that are a gift for those who are facing this disease. He spoke with passion as he wrote, "Life is to short to wait for permission to continue living. Don't allow cancer to define you."

Thank you Mr. Beaufort for a glimpse into your life as you beat cancer, overcame your fear and shared your fight to beat cancer with others. I encourage everyone that has been diagnosed or know someone that has been diagnosed with cancer to read this book. It will help you in your darkest moment, give you encouragement and empower you to lessen your fear as you take Mr. Beaufort's book and apply it on your journey. This book is not meant to be a cure for cancer , but a book about a man who walked in your shoes and overcame his fear while dealing with cancer.

Fatal Eclipse

I received a copy of Fatal Eclipse from the author for an honest review

From the moment the wedding vows are finished , the journey into the emotionally unbalanced life of Jonathan surfaces. He has married Maria, a woman he fell in love with when she was going through a tough time in her life. As Jonathan starts to unravel , it will take everything they have to keep their marriage together.

Mr. Davis has written a story so emotionally charged and thought provoking that I stayed up late into the night to finish the book. Jonathan seeks out the help of a therapist because he is having nightmares and seems to be distancing himself from his wife. The therapist, Dr. Evans seems like your typical therapist . You go in to her office, she asks questions and writes notes as Jonathan begins to talk. At one point she tells Jonathan, "Consider your fears as protectors of the truth. Through the fear lies the truth that has been hidden." Jonathan realizes that one of his fears is that he has to know that his wife is loyal. He asks himself "How do you know if you can truly trust someone if their loyalty has never been tested?" He then remembers his grandfather telling him that women can't be trusted.

This story has raw emotions that surface to the top in explosive ways. Mr. Davis has not only given us a character that seems to be on the edge of losing control, but shows what someone is willing to do to find a loyal , trusting person to spend his life with. Jonathan doesn't like the feeling of rejection and perhaps that is something that has been buried deep inside him since he was a little boy.

This book will take the reader to the depths of a person's despair and see how something buried deep inside can take over your life.
Is going to the therapist helping Jonathan? Can Maria help her husband find his way back or will she have to watch him losing his grip on reality?

Mr. Davis has written a story that will have you questioning your own emotions long after the last word is read. I loved the way he took us to a dark place in Jonathan's mind and showed a man who wanted to be free of the disturbing thoughts that have haunted him throughout his life.
Thank you Mr. Davis for writing a book that grabs you from the start, takes you on an emotional journey and wishing the story wouldn't end.  )

I loved this book as I love all the books that this author writes. From the beginning pages, you know you are in for a bumpy, heart thumping ride. The doors to the ER burst open with a man in a wheelchair bleeding. The other man screams for help. Before the staff has a chance to fully respond, a gun is being held to the head of a nurse.
Will the man be saved ? Is this man someone important, or someone associated with a criminal family ?

As the story progresses, the characters will experience terror, helplessness, mistakes and perhaps a chance to change their life. I enjoyed how the Dr and nurse become dependent on each other and find themselves looking for answers from God. No one really knows when danger is upon you , how you would react. It seems that people in the world demand revenge for things they have no control over. This books touches on that subject and takes the characters on a journey of forgiveness and helps them find strength they didn't know they had.
Thank you for another edge of your seat thriller.  )
