Those bloodhounds are galloping on through this Security Hounds series, aren’t they? Here in book #5, we have Chase and the unbelievably chill Tank. They couldn’t be more opposite. Tank is the kind of dog who only leaves his sunny napping spot when there’s an urgent need to do so. Chase is an energetic, unrestrained, human who gets caught up in the life of the reserved Pilar, a cello player who is simply trying to earn a few extra dollars when her delivery van is forced off the road and she’s kidnapped. That’s only the beginning of the adventure. I hope you will enjoy Tank, who falls deeply in love with Pilar’s cello music, and Pilar and Chase, who definitely got off on the wrong foot when they first met. And what is the object the killer is desperate to get his hands on? Hope you enjoy the ride!

MY REVIEW

Once again the author shows how gifted she is in writing stories that keep you on the edge of your seat. The action starts right away as Pilar finds herself in danger on the side of the road. She takes a delivery job to help pay the stack of bills that overwhelm her. Being the sole provider and care taker for her father is more than she can handle at times. I loved how protective she is with her dad. Who kidnaps Pilar and what is the motive?

Chase never expected his neighbor to call and ask for his help. After all Pilar and her dad think his family is trying to steal their land. Putting that aside him and his dog Tank take off to help Pilar. I love when a story includes a dog that has been trained in protection and rescue. It was easy to envision the size of Tank by his name and detailed description the author gives us. Tank becomes a favorite of mine because of his laid back attitude and love of music.

The story takes on a web of mystery and danger as Chase and Pilar try to figure out who is trying to cause harm to Pilar. With twists and turns the author delivers a story filled with many surprises. Be sure and grab a copy of this book for yourself.
