TURBULENCE by ALANA TERRY
I always enjoy reading books from this author. She tackles tough subjects with grace and honesty. The story is well written with high volume action and unexpected turns. I love Kennedy and her thirst for life. She questions her purpose at times, which I think we all do.
I was glad to see Willow front and center in this book. She is my favorite character because I can relate to her so much. She can be rough around the edges but oh my does she have a thirst for life . I live that she is not afraid to express herself through her clothes , hair or take on life. As Kennedy and Willow fly to Alaska for some much needed rested, a crisis happens on the plane. I loved how the author used profiling in the story. I think a lot of us are quick to assume someone is guilty just by their race. What is so great about this story is that things are not as they seem. What happens on the plane to cause passengers to fear for their life? It is a gripping story that had me turning pages as fast as I could.
As the turmoil continues on the plane, Kennedy starts to question why she hasn't witnessed to Willow before. She has talked about God, but not really explained how Willow can have a personal relationship with Him. Will it be too late for Kennedy to lead her friend to Jesus? We get to see a couple of characters in the book that play a big role in Kennedy's life. Is something big about to change for her? One of the biggest questions I think the book explores is how far are you willing to go for a cause? The other pressing question is, are you willing to sacrifice yourself in order to save others? Grab this book and get comfy as you experience a book that explores turbulence in the lives of others.
I received a copy of this book from the author. The review is my own opinion.

A HARVEST OF THORNS by CORBAN ADDISON
With a powerful beginning I knew this book was going to be an emotionally charged story. It is gritty and messy with details that can shock people at times. We know things go on in factories all over the world that are unfair , yet we turn the other way and refuse to address it. That is until the world is stunned by a picture that captures the utter inhumane treatment of workers in a factory far from the United Stated. I loved this book because the author is not afraid to tackle a subject that is deplorable and sickening to see. Is it worth buying clothes from a company at the cost of a human life?
With every big company comes power and sometimes greed. Some of the bigwigs ignore the rules in order to make more money. When Cameron was first introduced I wasn't sure if I liked him or not. Would he do the right thing and make workers feel safe? The horrors that take place in one of the company's factories made me cry. To think that a young woman must do the unthinkable to keep her job is so disheartening. From the back streets there is human trafficking, rape and so much underhanded money deals that makes the story jump off the pages. Perhaps some of the language was a bit unsettling but I think for this type of story it was a realistic view of what really goes on.
I appreciate that the author doesn't sugarcoat anything, but goes full force into the world of big corporation vs the deplorable treatment of humans. Josh is a journalist who has a story that can take down many people , but can he do it without putting himself in danger? In the courtroom the story will put that fear on some and others will scream for justice. Who will win? Will the real traitor stand up and take punishment? Can the judicial system give the plaintiffs cause to celebrate? The writing is aggressive and takes us all over the world to expose the men and women who are greedy enough to sacrifice lives to get ahead. What will be the final verdict? Grab a copy and find out who will be the victor in this action packed thriller.

WITH GOOD INTENTIONS by JO HUDDLESTON
This is another wonderful good feeling book by the gifted author. I just love reading her books and hope to get all of her books read soon. She always writes with such calm and peace. It is easy to fall in love with her characters because they are nice and compassionate.
Jean Stewart and her mom run an ice cream shop with the story set in the late 1950s. I love reading about the relaxed atmosphere in the town and the small town feel it has. Jean has a big dream and someone is trying to take that away . It is never easy when a big power corporation comes to town with the intentions of buying you out. The nerve of William Wainworth thinking he can come in to the quaint town and buy companies out. I loved Jean's determination to dig her feet in and not sale.
William is a dedicated worker and has a big job trying to get Jean and her mom to sale. William is a nice man who wants to please his father. He doesn't want to let his dad down and will go to any length to get the contract signed. The story is fun to read and I loved how the author showed how one lie can turn into another lie and well trouble follows. I had to laugh at William because he just can't win Jean over. As they get to know each other, what happens when Jean finds out William has been less than honest with her? Is buying Jean's building more important to William than his feelings for her?
The story is full of southern charm , wonderful characters and a lesson in lies and forgiveness. Don't miss this sweet story and find out if Jean's dream comes true.
