About the Author:
Lynn Watson combines many years’ experience in women’s ministry, love of essential oils, and her passion for God’s word to bring her readers freshly inspired encouragement for their walk with Jesus. Her devotional, The Essence of Courage, was recognized as a ‘must read’ by regional publishing industry leaders. Married since 1973, Lynn and Steve have filled their Bartlett, Tennessee home with handmade treasures and lots of love for family, especially their five beautiful (of course) grandchildren. Aromas of freshly baked bread often fill Lynn’s kitchen. Jasmine, her tuxedo kitty, enjoys sleeping in Lynn’s lap while she writes.
Wouldn't it be nice to visit Miss Dot's Cafe. The warmth you would feel there would make you want to stay forever. The fresh smell of coffee would be intoxicating and the lovely gift shop included in the coffee shop is inviting to all. I was very intrigued by the description of a pomegranate. I haven't tried one before but I love what it symbolizes. " It is the greatest git of love: Christ's resurrection and its promise of eternal life and love -forever in heaven." I never thought about opening the pomegranate and sharing the seeds of love it has. Oh if we could only love one another like Jesus loves the church, our world would be in peace.
I loved at the end of each chapter the author has included an in depth look as the different fragrances and the meaning behind each one. It even tells you how to make the beautiful fragrances like pomegranate wine. The book is filled with wonderful stories and brings such encouragement. I love the way the author tells the story using biblical stories and also stories of the people at the coffee shop. It made me feel like I was at a quaint bible study surrounded by wisdom. I loved the story about gentleness. Gram shared with "Cinnamah-Brosia how to "be gentle with your words, or when you reach out with a gentle touch, you will fill your soul with peace." I think about the saying, "Actions speak louder than words." Give someone a smile when they look sad, hold someone's hand in a nursing home to let them know they aren't aren't alone, and give a hug when you see someone crying. I really liked the fragrance that went with this chapter. It was myrrh and sandalwood essential oils." Together it may help to provide a sense of gentleness and calm in the environment."
As you can see each chapter is filled with inspiring stories and aromas that enhance each story.. Come join Cinnamon Amber Fields at her coffee shop to fellowship, be encouraged and meet new friends. The book is fun to read and I enjoyed every moment I spent soaking up the stories and learning about the different aromas.
I received a copy of this book from Celebrate Lit. The review is my own opinion.
