SHADOWS IN THE MOONLIGHT by ACE COLLINS

The eighth installment is so exciting and fast paced, I was on the edge of my seat. Each episode in this masterfully written story gets more intense and completely captures readers' attention. I love the history of this story. The author takes us back to a time where Hitler has captured the attention of many. I loved  reading about the surroundings and the details of the clothing and the mannerisms of the characters.

Why does Hitler have his sites on a man named Nigel Armstrong? Does Nigel know something that could destroy Hitler? Helen is still trying to get over the deaths of her teammates when her sister arrives with a new assignment. Is Helen ready to take on the case? The interesting fact is four people who were getting treatment for polio have disappeared from The Warm Springs. Who else was there at the same time getting the same treatment for polio?

The story continues to draw readers with the intrigue and extradionary details  the author is able to write with intensity. Collins does  touch on a very interesting subject in the book. Can illness or tragedy be the punishment for sin?  It could be argued for and against but the dialogue is superb and really got me to thinking . Do we become ill because we have sinned against God? Whatever the answer is, it was a great subject to give readers something to think about. The next installment promises to be another fast paced edge of the seat high stakes mystery.

BOTTLED MADNESS by ACE COLLINS

Get ready for another great adventure in this seventh installment of "In The President's Service." I really enjoyed the story and found myself totally engrossed in the setting, characters and mystery. The author does a great job of telling a story that grabs your attention right from the start. I loved the story about Allison and the elderly man in the cab. His story was so mesmerizing and intense that I couldn't stop reading. What a fascinating take that took readers aboard an abandoned ship at sea. Where did the crew go? What happened to the captain? What letter was found on that ship ? The mystery is surrounded by a bottle filled with water. Now the question is, why has that bottle gotten the attention of Hitler? The reason I loved the story so much is because it has mysteries that weaved together throughout the story to keep me glued to the book. I love the way the author peaks the interest of readers by his brilliant storytelling. I am excited to read the next installment in this intriguing story. Thank you for writing with great details, having interesting characters and a storyline that takes us back in history. BEWARE THE ORCHIDS by CYNTHIA HICKEY

I love reading cozy mysteries. They are fun, action packed and always filled with quaint and funny  characters. The theme is always surrounded by a business. I loved the retirement center that the author wrote about. It was filled with feisty women, gossips, loners and older men looking to have a little romance. The place was busy, and sounded like a great place to live.

Shady Acres Retirement Center is Shelby's new place to work. After being jilted at the altar, she had to find a new place far away from her old life. What better place than a retirement center . Her job is to take care of the plants,  flowers and head up the activities for the residents. I absolutely loved the outfits she wore everyday. I could picture her rain boots with cute designs that were perfectly matched to her outfit.  Her grandmother decides to take up residence at the retirement place . The grandmother is such a fun character. She is there to have a good time and maybe find a new beau. She is spunky and full of life. I would love to hang out with her. Oh the troubles we would get into would be hilarious .

When there is a murder at the retirement center, everyone starts pointing fingers at each other. Who would kill someone at a place where elderly people lived? There were really no kind words spoken of the dead person. What a shame they were not well liked. The way the person  was murdered was a brilliant and refreshing change from the usual stabbing or being shot that other books have. Shelby somehow appoints herself to solve the mystery. Perhaps it may be because the handsome handyman was a suspect. She did seem to have a sparkle in her eye when she looked at him. The story is fun, entertaining and unpredictable at times. It sure had me laughing and it really is a nice story written with flair and entertainment. I cannot wait for the next Shady Acres book in this laugh out loud zany series.

THE RECTOR by MICHAEL THOMPSON

This was such a fun read for me. I love mysteries and when you add a bit of southern charm, well I'm set for the evening. The book is fast paced and oh my the characters are great. I loved Martha McRae and her sweet  And friendly southern charm.  She lives in a quaint little town in Mississippi where everyone is friendly. The book reminded me of the show "Murder She Wrote." The main character was a sweet woman but she really had a knack for solving mysteries, like Martha does.

The town has a great little diner where the locals eat at. I could picture families eating and waitresses bustling around taking orders. The atmosphere was light as everyone was enjoying their meal. Suddenly the rector dies right in front of everyone. That will definitely spoil a meal for the townspeople. As Martha starts to dig into the death, it seems the town has some secrets . What are these secrets? Will it lead to the killer?

The plot is well developed and keeps readers on their toes. I wonder why a new rector suddenly shows up in town? Does anyone know him? News travels fast , I guess when a murder happens. Did the newspaper put an ad in the paper, " Local Rector dies, looking for a replacement." I mean the new rector was there before the body was even cold it seems. I loved how the author sprinkled scriptures throughout the story which encouraged the characters. I'm excited to know that there will be more in this well written, funny and exciting mystery series.
