More from Allen

The stakes have been raised in the 3rd book of the Towers of Light Series, Fear No Evil.  The children have been separated from one another in the darkness shrouded, Muddy River valley.  Evil prowls around them at every turn.  Do they have the faith to fear no evil?

My favorite part about writing this book was a conversation I had with the real Ethan.  I had a tight editorial deadline to meet and I decided to go on a writing retreat to finish the book.  While I was trying to leave home, my youngest the real life Ethan kept asking me questions and delaying my departure.  Finally, I said, “You know the last time I wrote there was a ferocious bear about to eat Ethan.  If I don’t sit down and start writing soon, he’s going to be a bear food.” Ethan’s reply was, “Yah you better go write now!”  You’ll have to pick up Fear no Evil to see if I got back to the story in time.

MY REVIEW

I am really enjoying this series. I didn’t  care too much for this genre until I started reading books by this author. He brings excitement, adventure, danger and God’s truth in a story that will intrigue many young readers. This is the perfect book  for young people to read. The author takes three children on an adventure to rescue their parents while fighting  off the darkness. I was happy to see the return of Uncle and the Knight protector.

As Lauren , Aiden and Ethan set out to go to Blooming Glen, they will each encounter a dangerous situation. I liked how the author separated them and allowed them to each fight their own demons. God  has given them light to overcome darkness. Now they must not fear but be courageous and trust Him. It was interesting to see how each child found the faith and strength they needed to fight darkness and those that stood in their way.

Even though it may have seemed hopeless each one fought their battle with the Holt  Spirit to give them encouragement. I loved the obstacles they overcame and how they never backed down. A great lesson in overcoming fear and shining light where darkness dwelled. I can’t wait for the next book in this series.

“When something important needs to happen, God sends us the Holy Spirit to shine brighter to push back the Darkness.”

I received a copy of this book from Celebrate Lit. The review is my own opinion.

  1. Thank you so much for your honest review. I really appreciate the time you put into it. I like how you picked up on the importance of the children overcoming obstacles despite their isolation. This story has been on my heart for a long time, so to have it come out in the midst of this pandemic feels like perfect timing to help kids who are feeling all alone find ways to overcome their fears.
