If you read Sooner or Later, you met Jimmy when he was a young boy. He’s now grown and struggling with PTSD after fighting in the war. Oklahoma, at this time, was split in two, with the eastern section being Indian Territory and the western half, the Oklahoma Territory. Jimmy has left his family and taken a job building a house for an older Indian man. But he’s soon in for a big surprise.

MY REVIEW

This book was very special because it illustrated how people from different backgrounds can find happiness with each other. Right away I knew I was going to like Sasha. All her life she has wanted her mother to spend time with her. It was hard to watch her mother thrive as an actress but never want a relationship with her daughter. It was shock how unfeeling Sasha’s mother was to her. Sasha was so brave to leave and start a new life when she discovers she has an uncle. What a wonderful reunion they had and finally Sasha knows what it feels like to be wanted by a family member.

Jim is kind hearted and a very hard worker. He helps Sasha’s uncle out while building a great relationship with him. What is special about Jim is how he wants to help others. When he meets Sasha it was kinda funny because Sasha was in disguise. As their friendship grows Jim knows that if he is to have a meaningful relationship with Sasha she must believe in God.

There is a bit of suspense in the story which talks about the oil industry. Suddenly land was becoming very sought after and pressure was being placed on people to sell. Greed is certainly at the center of this land business with a certain group trying to gain land in order to become rich off the oil. Poor Saha thinks she has someone she can confide in when she overhears disturbing news. A hard lesson awaits Sasha when she trusts the wrong person.

The author does such a good job of bringing two people together who long for acceptance. Sasha gets a lesson in finding out that wealth is not important if you are all alone. A relationship with Jesus will bring her a new understanding of trust and unconditional love.
