More from Dana

Cops and killers and beagles, oh my! It was a ton of fun writing the second book in the new True Blue K-9 Continuity series. First of all, I had the honor of working with some AMAZING authors. (It’s challenging creating a world together and keeping all those details straight!) I had the privilege of following the amazing Lynette Eason, so that’s always a plus! Second, I learned all about the astonishing world of beagles!  Those critters are just amazing. For instance, the original beagles were tiny, only 8 inches tall and could be carried in a pocket, which is why they called them Pocket Beagles. I need one of those! The name beagle comes from the French, which is translated “wide throat” or “loudmouth.” This is well earned by Eddie in my story, who will occasionally let loose with the trademark baying. The beagles small size, general friendliness, and ferocious scent drive, make it the perfect dog to sniff around airports and get into compact spaces. Eddie enjoys doing just that with Zach, his handler and best friend. He earns those gourmet treats that Zach bakes up for him. Best of all, Eddie was rescued from death before he became a canine cop star! It’s just awesome when you can twine fact with fiction to come up with a tail wagging suspense story! I hope you enjoy the second installment in the series!

I have always been fascinated by K-9 dogs. They are definitely highly trained and very protective of their handler. This series promises to be full of adventure and high intense drama. The author has really done her homework and knows the ins and out of police dogs . I will never figure out how the dogs are trained to sniff out drugs, but I doubt nothing gets by them. If you are looking for a loyal, trained in combat and fearless partner, then Eddie would rank right up there with the best.

I enjoyed getting to now Violet and how serious she takes her job at the airport. I could picture the hustle and bustle as people rushed around the terminal trying to make their flights. Violet happens to be at the right place at the wrong time when a suspicious man tries to go around her to get checked in. In that split moment Violet's life will be in danger and she has to depend on her friend Zach and his K-9 partner to keep her safe.

The race is on as drug smugglers try to outsmart the cops. Violet is in danger since she can identify one of the smugglers and Zach is doing his best to protect her. I enjoyed knowing the history they share together . Zach is having a hard time trusting God right now and it is starting to cause him to lose focus on the job. A great loss has been felt by his family but Zach blames God. Will he be able to find his way back to his faith?

The story is action packed and never ceases as the danger surrounds Zach and Violet. Eddie, the K-9 is a great asset and I loved reading about him in action. The intrigue is thrilling and I loved how the author kept the story going. The book is one you can't put down and ends with a great reminder that God is always faithful and will never leave you.

I received a copy of this book from Celebrate Lit. The review is my own opinion.
